New Year's Eve meal number 5

I've got great friends that saved me the best bit of the roasted chicken with potatoes, satay, meat patties, soya cincau, pumpkin soup, bruschettas and tang yuen (not in picture). To round it all up, we all took shots of jagermeister!

Sorry I only stayed for an hour. Fruit ninja for 2 players on Ipad rocks!

New Year 2011!

So how was your NYE'a countdown? I didn't contribute to the massive jam in downtown KL. We were home before the clock struck 12. I stood on a stool (my bedroom window is rather high) and saw fireworks! The first round came from my neighbour's home 10 minutes before 12. At 12, the fireworks from Dataran Merdeka was clearly visible. AWESOME!!!
Am not a regular in making resolutions so there will be none this year Just lots of wishes: To travel more, get back to shape, get our own home, develop new career, bake more, spend a little more on myself and to catch up with all my close friends.
What is YOUR wish this year? To a great rabbit year ahead! :)

Tokyo- Good food gracious people! (Part 1)

I just returned from a fantastic short holiday to Tokyo. We attended a traditional Japanese wedding and it was just beautiful. In Japan culture, the banquet is lunch (before that was the Shinto ceremony) and the bride & grooms' bosses are requested to give a speech. Try that in Malaysia? :)
Great day for outdoor photo taking

The magnificent outdoor view for photo taking

Before everyone asks if we went to the Onsen, Tsukiji Fish market or shopping at Omote-Sando street, the answer is no. So that calls for another trip back to Tokyo! The architecture is top notch, and I feel that Hong Kong is many times more congested (people & building) compared to Tokyo. In recent times, property prices in HK has overtook Tokyo. There was some walking around before the wedding day at typical Asakusa to view the temple and Akihabara to view the electronics and manga scene. Our hotel, Prince Park Tower in Minato-ku is very near the Tokyo tower and the view from the room and bar at 33rd floor is excellent!

Land of Cats- Kuching

I was there over the weekend and thought I should record this in the blog while i'm at it.

Nice place, clean, friendly people & peaceful. If ever you need a place to retire and get away from all the nonsense in KL, Kuching is a good recommendation.

Pullman Hotel is the latest and the rooms are pretty good. Big, spacious and modern. If you want to taste some local specialty food, make sure you make space for Kolok Mee, Sarawak Laksa, Oyster Omelette and "Midin" vegetable. One nice restaurant that all tourist and locals rave about is Blah Blah Blah... fantastic ambience with koi pond and lots of plants. Food is good and most importantly moderate pricing without tax! :)

Phuket with Uniqbe Ltd

The purpose of this blog is for me to record my memory for future reference during my golden years. So here are some random scribbles about my Phuket trip recently in Oct 2010.

Actually I'm kind of lazy to write again... You can read about it at scribbles of a psoriatic patient

Almost another year?!

Gosh this blog is REALLY not taking off. Between the last post and today, I have been to a few places such as Melbourne, Hong Kong, Guilin, Penang and most recently Italy (Singapore too but that's for work so it's not really a travel adventure, besides it's Singapore :)

I will try to update on all my trips and food even back on KL. Hopefully this can inspire me to travel and eat even more over the next few years!

However, the reason for this blog is not to exhibit any places or restaurants. The scribbles will remind me of the times when I had enjoyed myself with simple pleasures of eating and seeing different cultures.

Has it been a year?

I salute people that can update their blogs religiously. Shamefully my travel & food blog did not take off as how i imagine it would.

Wait... Maybe it's because I have not been travelling much (except for work and that's NEVER fun). DARN!
